Monthly Lunch Seminars: Thursday December 10 , 2015 – Ramada Inn – Okanagan East Room

Remote Sensing for Resource Exploration and Development

Remote Sensing technology has made huge strides recently.

From satellites hundreds of kms above the earth: we can acquire full color imagery in 30cm resolution, distinguish mineral deposits and detect movement of the earth’s surface with sub-centimeter accuracy.

At any point on the globe, at any time of the year; you can start exploring without leaving your office. 3D images can be produced and merged with virtually any type of geo-spatial data sets to prioritize development plans and capital deployment.

Before setting foot on a lease, aerial and UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) platforms can deploy several types of sensors to simultaneously acquire much more detail regarding mineral types, vegetation indicators, topography, infrastructure conditions etc.

This presentation will provide images and results from several case studies to demonstrate applications and capabilities.
